Glamour magazine showcases the evolution of women’s underwear over the last 100 years in their new video.Kicking off with the “step-in” chemises of the 1920s, the clip explores the changing tastes and preferences of Western women in terms of length, material and design. The introduction of shorter, more revealing underwear in the 1940s is shown as the model dances around with a fittingly voluminous hairstyle.
Later we see the adoption of bold branding on the waistlines during the ’90s, a movement spearheaded by the likes of Calvin Klein, followed by the raunchier G-strings and low-rise jeans of the ’00s. Finishing in 2016, we see a turn back to full-form underwear with briefs back in fashion and G-string sales rapidly declining.
